Hansel and Victor Jimenez are two young musicians, born in Peru, who arrived in Australia in 2001 at the age of 12 and 6 respectively. From very young they have demonstrated talent for the arts, especially for music and dance. Once in Australia they have developed greatly their talent and ability in music having studied classical guitar and keyboard in the Conservatory of Music in Sydney, but their parents were commissioned to keep them in touch with the music, traditions and folklore of Peru and Latin America.
During their visits to Peru Hansel and Victor rediscovered their love for the Peruvian and Latin American folk music taking classes of traditional musical instruments like charango, quena and zampoña in prestigious music workshops and with the best teachers in Peru as Pedro Arriola and Edgar Espinoza.
Hansel and Victor joined their talents to start performing as DUO JIMENEZ in 2012. Since then they have performed continuously in major events like The National Multicultural Festival and The Gold and the Incas Exhibition at The National Art Gallery (Canberra), The EID Multicultural Festival, The Darling Harbour Fiesta Festival, The Sydney Latin American Film Festival and in very important venues across Sydney for charity events, fundraisers and private functions becoming one of the favorites for our diverse community.
This time around they will be playing some new material for the Rhythms, Colours and Flavours of Peru festival.
